Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
No matter what difficulties we go through, we can always rely that God will protect us and give us His constant love.
God’s covenant is mentioned many times in the Bible, particularly the Old Testament. God’s original covenant was a contract with His chosen people, the Israelites. He promised His love and His protection. Their end of the bargain was supposed to be unending faithfulness to Him. But history shows that the Israelites did not keep up their part of the contract.
Despite that failure, God kept His promise. He never stopped loving His people. He saved them from exile, wars, and catastrophes. And ultimately, He paid the final price for sin through the death of His son, Jesus. Talk about everlasting love!
Jesus brought God’s covenant to the whole world, if we’ll just accept Him as our Savior. So we, too, can trust in God’s love and protection forever. But this time, our end of the contract includes being God’s hands and feet in this world. The love that we’ve been given by a forgiving God needs to be shared with everyone — and we need to be the ones to do it.
How do you share God’s love with those around you? Have you thought about what you can say and do to make opportunities to help them experience His love? Are you ready to give God the glory and praise with words and deeds?
Father God, You have given me never-ending love. You are faithful to me and are with me in all circumstances. Give me the tools I need and the confidence to use them, to share the faithful love with others. Help me to be ready at all times to draw people to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
